Great event: Today (July 19 4241 B.C.E.), Egypt has made the first written recording of an event.
The event: The River Nile has flooded.
The Nile is the longest river in the world. Today it has flooded to help grow the crops. It is a great day.
The harvest calander is seperated into three seasons: akhet (Inundation), peret (Growth - Winter) and shemu (Harvest - Summer). During this time in history, at this place in the Old World, most Egyptions are farmers. There are fisherman too, and rulers, but not nearly as many as farmers.

Ok, Im going to begin blogging about Egypt. Why? Because its my FAVORITE place in the WORLD!
Anyway, Im doing this blog sort of like a travel journal. Basically, I will act like I am there and in doing this I will try to make you feel like you are there.
